Youth Ballroom
Whether you are a beginner or have ballroom dance experience, these classes will enhance your ballroom dance technique and skills. Partners are not required; however the
class will need to be balanced with boys and girls.
Students are introduced to various styles of partner dances, including ballroom, Latin and swing. The program emphasizes the basic etiquette of social dance and introduces
students to basic partner dance concepts such as lead & follow, dance frame, open and closed position, etc. It includes live demonstrations of traditional Ballroom dances
such as waltz and fox trot, rhythmic Latin dances such as salsa, meringue and cha-cha and contemporary American dances such as Hustle/disco, line dance and several
styles of swing.
Many social historians say that the decline of etiquette and social awareness in American culture can be directly linked to the virtual disappearance of partner dancing in the
second half of the 20th century. But with the dawn of a new century, renewed interest in the art of social dancing has swept the nation. Educators who energize their curriculum
by capitalizing on this interest see outstanding results in the areas of:
- Social awareness
- Confidence
- Self-esteem
- Care and consideration for others
- Teamwork

Special Note! While we are
presenting our classes in this
age/level format, please keep in
mind that the ages are truly
guidelines – we actually place
students in levels based on skill
first, and then age as a distant,
secondary consideration.
So, for example, TEAM in Level 9
can have kids as young as 9 years
old if they are good enough.
Jazz - Tap - Ballet
These are the basics of all dance. We recommend a strong and early enrollment to ballet followed by tap and then jazz.
Tumbling
Our tumbling teaches acrobatic skills such as somersaults, cartwheels, backbends, hand-stand rolls, etc. Classes will give boys a balance and coordination edge in sport
activities, while girls will love becoming more limber.
Turns and Leaps
Concentrates on the technical aspects of leaping, jumping and turning by teaching a series of jumps, leaps and turns, weight and direction changes. The student develops
balance, strength, elevation and body alignment.
Hip-Hop
A class designed to increase the students rhythmic and coordination skills. Students will focus on learning many fun upbeat combinations, which increases the students’
ability to learn dance combinations quickly. Ballet and/or jazz technique is not taught in this class. Also see the Street Dance page!
For the older children, ages 7-18, we continue with the levels-based classes, from Level 5 thru level 9.
For a descriptive covering of this approach, please see this page...Class "Level" Descriptions
