2009 UDA Recital

Tickets go on sale Monday May 12th, 9am!!
Each family receives 2 complimentary tickets.  
Each additional ticket is $12.00 in advance and $14.00 at the door.  
A ticket order form is in the Recital Package

Rehearsal & Event Schedule

The following rehearsals are MANDATORY, unless other arrangements are made!
Any absences will need to be cleared by UDA office by May 18th.

** During your class the week of June 1-6 please come to class with full hair and makeup.

THE EVENT: RECITAL!
 Saturday June 20th
Students must be at the high school no later than
1 pm
(Must arrive at High School in full makeup and hair)
Students must be in costume by 1:30
Stretch and warm up 1:45
Showtime 2 pm


Please supply students with food and drink for long rehearsal days.  We hope to have a
fantastic show and with your cooperation of the rehearsal schedule we know it will be!!

COSTUME ACCESSORIES/DETAILS

All shoes and tights will be purchased through
United Dance Arts.  
During the week of May 4th, the
students will be fitted for proper shoes, tights, and
any alterations needed for each costume.  Every
dancer is expected to purchase the appropriate
shoes and tights for each recital dance they are in.    

Jazz Shoes                          $30.00

Tiny Tot Tap/Kinder            $25.00

Tap Level 1                          $50.00

Tiny Tot Ballet/Kinder         $22.00

Ballet Level 1                       $25.00

Foot Thongs                         $20.00

*Hip Hop                               Teacher to specify shoes
                                             needed

*Hip hop Mon. level 1 black & white tube socks $8.00

Tights will need to be purchased for each costume.  
The cost of tights is $10.00.  

We strongly recommend you order more than one
pair in case of emergency.  The color of tights is
determined by the costume and you may need to
order more than one pair depending on what
dances you are in.  Order forms for merchandise will
need to be brought to each class the week of May
4th with payment.  

Accessories  
Some classes may have accessories to compliment
their costumes.  These accessories will be provided
to the students during rehearsals.  
HAIR/MAKEUP


Hair

All girls’ hair must be secured in a low bun with a left part.  
The bun must be wrapped with a hair net to match hair color.  
Exception:  Hip hop routines will wear their hair down.  

Boys must have their hair neat and gelled.  


Make-Up

All girls are required to have stage make-up based on the
following:
Earth Tone Eye Shadow
Black Eyeliner
Black Mascara
Red/Pink Blush
Burgundy/Red Lipstick with Lip liner to match

A Mary Kay makeup kit containing all of the above items is
available for $20.00 through the studio for your convienence.  
This is an optional purchase.  If you would like to purchase
this kit please order from the office by May 17th.  

**Dance Team members are to use competition make-up.  
PERFORMACE INFORMATION AND POLICIES


LOCATION:  Hobart High School
            36 E. 8th St.
            Hobart, IN 46342

REHERSAL:  June 19th 2 pm
             @Hobart High School

SHOW DATE:  Saturday, June 20th

We expect the following...

1.        Dancers should arrive at Hobart High School no later than 1 pm on recital day.  Main doors to the
auditorium will not open until 1 pm.  Parents are not allowed into the auditorium until that time.  
2.        Students cannot walk around the auditorium.  
3.        You can only enter and exit the auditorium in between dances.  No one will be allowed to enter
the auditorium during a performance.
4.        The studio is not responsible for dancers after they leave the backstage area.  Complete
supervision is the responsibility of the parent.  
5.        See that children are not distracting to others; please keep children seated during the show.  
6.        Keep aisles clear during performances.
7.        Show respect for dancers, no talking during performances.
8.        Absolutely no smoking, no food, or beverages in auditorium.  
9.        NO TAPING OR FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY PERMITTED.  There will be professional taping
available to purchase.

Professional Dance Portraits
Week of May 26th – June 1st

The portraits will be taken during the
students’ regular class time. Students
need to come in full costume with hair and
make-up as if they were going onstage.  
Students can have individual pictures
taken as well as a group photo.  The
picture order form is enclosed in the
packet, please have the form filled out as
well as payment ready on the day of
pictures.  A separate form is needed for
each class.  Everyone is expected to show
up for pictures whether you are purchasing
or not.

The DVD from the recital will be available for
purchase.  The cost of each DVD is $25.00.
